Charity Work

We in the Maitreya Mission's firmly believe that "Manav Seva is Madhav Seva" (service to man is service to God). The Mission and its members are involved and committed for charitable work. The Mission undertakes many kinds of community service work or seva, like taking care of the old & neglected senior citizens, collection and distribution of rations, medicines, clothes and household items like utensil, blankets etc. to the unattended elderly people, poor and leper in the colonies of Delhi.
The mission helps educate poor children by raising donations for the educational expenses of some deserving students. Provide spiritual counseling and healing to the sick, the elderly and mentally distressed and troubled souls. Apart from this charitable work the Mission and its members are dedicated to educate all brothers and sisters on earth about the Light of God. To help them understand their inner power.
To help them realize that God is not far from them, to help them identify their divinity. It imparts the teachings and spiritual techniques of the Sidha gurus/ ascended masters to cope with the pressure of life and to make life healthy and abundant. Seminars on such spiritual subjects have been widely appreciated and acclaimed.
All those involved with the Mission's work without exception experience a positive spiritual and personality transformation. Our resolve is to build an ashram as an abode of Friendship, the Maitreya home for all those who need healing, nursing and caring where they can bask in the LOVE & LIGHT God till they can cope up with their lives. We are looking forward for all help from gracious and generous individuals, groups, businesses, corporate bodies to help the Mission in its work. VATSALYAM CHILDREN OF LEPROSY PATIENTS WELFARE PROGRAMME The Maitreey Preksha Seva Mission was conceived with the blessings of Her Grace Shyama Raj, who heads the Mission and inspires all its members for its philanthropic activities, with a three fold objective to serve the humanity by way of providing Healing, Charity and Spirituality. The motto of the Maitreey Mission is “Manav Seva is Madhav Seva” viz service to man is service to God.The Maitreey Mission has taken up the cause of providing a decent life to the leprosy patients and their families, under the guidance of Maa Shyama who has been a mother in all sense. Now we want to focus and priorities our attention for the welfare of the children of leprosy patients living in slums for their decent upbringing much to the relief of their parents, under our “Vatsalyam For the Girl Child Programme”. This project is managed by Maitreey Mission. “Vatsalyam” means the tender love and care of a mother for her child. Do you not feel nostalgic about your mother and your childhood? Yes we all have found memories of our childhood, but have you thought there are thousands of unfortunate children who are deprived of Vatsalyam, the tender care and love of their parents. Many children lose their parents to death, for some children the parents choose to lose them so they become orphans, and few unfortunate children have their parents but they have stigma of LEPROSY with them that they can hardly give a healthy & secure childhood to their child. Leprosy is a communicable contagious disease, can be contacted through close contact with the affected patient which manifests after a long gestation period during adolescent years. Since the patient is affected with leprosy disease there children run a very high risk of contacting this dreadful disease from them or from the other patients living in the leper colony. So in order to save these children from contacting leprosy we need to remove them from these colonies/slums. Home cum Vocational Centre: In Delhi alone hundreds of such children are living in inhuman slum conditions in desperate need for a home of love, tender care, affection and at the same time good education and upbringing, nourishment so that they are healthy and normal children. Especially girls, who are often abused/sexually assaulted, so their leper parents have no alternative but to force them into marriage at a very tender age and the boys are made to beg. .We have waited long enough and sought help/grant and accommodation from the government but to no avail. With no help coming from government and/or state agencies we have now decided to embark upon this pilot project on our own with the help and participation of compassionate persons and philanthropic organizations to co-create with us for this noble cause. More recently we have been much concerned about the female children living in Delhi’s leprosy colonies between 4 to 14 years. Despite of our best efforts, girl child remain at risk for her abuse which is physical, emotional and tragically at times also sexual. Some of the older girls 15 years onwards are at risk of being abducted/ sold to brothels and forced into prostitution along with the added risk of contacting HIV/Aids. The dynamics of some of these families life style are complex and difficult to define without causing them the community anguish and breaking faith in and with them. There is now an urgent need to move some of these young, vulnerable girls from there disturbed home circumstances. So the mission has embarked upon a small residential project which will provide a heaven for such girls, who would live in group home atmosphere in a kind of Vocational School-cum-Home for young girls. They will all receive education through a couple of full time teachers. Apart from their normal school curriculum, vocational training will be imparted to them so that they can enhance there skills, ordinarily, they would never have had a chance to come up in life, so that they can in future become self sufficient and help/support their leprosy inflicted parents and lead a dignified life. The families will continue to receive all help, support and counseling. Please write if you would like to know more about our work. Would you be prepared to help us in some tangible way? Initially we are starting this project for girl child. However, later we would be extending this project for boys also as a second phase. Vatsalyam is a home of Maitreey Mission to provide the child living in leper colonies of Delhi a loving home and educate them. Co-Creating Costs As your contribution towards this noble cause to run and sustain the Vatsalyam programme you can help us by:- **(A) Either take up the responsibility towards one girl child as yours for all her living cost at the Vatsalyam till the finishes her formal education in the school, or **(B) Pay for one girl child for one year and see her growth and then can participate further; or (C) Participate by extending your help towards taking up the responsibility for paying up for one annual expense of running Vatsalyam from the “List of Annual Recurring Costs” (List will be provided on request);or (D) Make a lump some donation for Vatsalyam. **All you need to do is to contribute towards the girl child’s annual expense. Which includes cost of boarding & lodging, school fees, books/stationary, school dress, vocational training in whatever the child can excel, health insurance and her other expenses. We will send your regular reports on her progress that includes her photograph. We request you to join the Vatsalyam movement that expands your love for other than your own biological child. Together, the Mission and you can ensure that every girl child in these leper slums where her parents are lepers/beggars, who are unable to provide her with basic needs like, protection against abuse, nourishment and education can complete twelve years of formal education and God willing we can educate them further. By sharing the responsibility you become the foster parent of a child. To accomplish this laudable task we humbly make an appeal to compassionate/philanthropic organizations such as yours for your kind cooperation and support to co-create with us for this noble cause. God bless you and keep you in comfort, happiness, security and abundance of love.
