Gayatri Mantra

Om bhur bhuva swaha
Tath savithur varenyam
Bhargo devasya dhimahi
Dhiyo yo nah prachodayath
Meaning:
"May there is peace on mortal, immortal and divine planes. We meditate upon the most brilliant splendor of the Sun god. May he stimulate our intellect so that we are inspired to take the right action at the right time."

Mantra from Upanishad

Purnam adah purnam idam
Purnat purnam udacyate
Purnasaya purnam adaya
Purnam evavasisyate
Meaning:
"That the absolute is the whole,
That the Universe is the whole.
From the whole emerges this whole.
Take away the whole from the whole
And yet the whole remains."

Mantra of Ascension

Asato maa satgamaya
Tamaso maa jyotirgamaya
Mrithyormaa amrutam gamaya
Om shanti shanti shantihi
Meaning:
Lead me from unreal to real,
Lead me from darkness to light, indeed
Lead me from the morality to immorality,
bestow peace, peace and peace.

Mantra from Yajurveda for Peace

Dyauh santih antariksam santih
Prthivi santih apah santih
Osadhayah santih vanaspatayayah santih
Sarvam santih Reva Santih
Visve devah santih brahma santih
Sa ma santir edhi
Om shanti shanti shanti
Meaning:
May the heavens be peaceful;
May the atmosphere be peaceful;
May peace reign on earth;
May the waters be soothing;
And the medicinal herbs full of healing;
May the plants be a source of peace to all:
May all the learned people bring peace to us;
May the God spread peace throughout;
May all other objects give us peace;
May peace itself be peaceful,
And may that peace come unto me,
Om peace peace peace.

Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra

Tryamakam yajamahe sugandhim pushti vardhanam
urvaruka miva bandhanan mrtyor muksheeya mamrtath
Meaning:
We worship the three-eyed one (Lord Siva), who is fragrant and who nourishes well all beings. May he liberate us from death for the sake of immortality even as a cucumber is served from it's bondage to the creeper.
